Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Chairs Cabinet's Session

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet's session held at Al-Yamamah Palace here today.
At the outset of the session, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques briefed the Cabinet on official talks with Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the content of the telephone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin citing coordination of efforts between the Kingdom and Russia in order to achieve the stability of the oil market to serve global economic growth. The King also briefed the Cabinet on the telephone call with President Mahmoud Abbas of the State of Palestine citing the assertion of the Kingdom's steadfast stance on the Palestinian cause, the rights of the Palestinian people, supporting their options and fulfilling their hopes.
The Minister of Media, Turki bin Abdullah Al-Shabanah, pointed out in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency after the session that the Cabinet reaffirmed the Kingdom's support for the efforts to reach a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause. The Cabinet noted great and pioneering efforts made by the Kingdom in supporting the brotherly Palestinian people and standing by their side in all international forums, including the Kingdom's presentation of the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative. It also expressed appreciation for the efforts of the American administration to develop a comprehensive peace plan between the two sides.
The Cabinet affirmed that the Kingdom's support for efforts to advance negotiations confirms that the success of these efforts requires that their ultimate goal is to achieve a just and lasting solution that guarantees the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
The Cabinet reviewed the unanimous decision of the Arab League Emergency Meeting of Foreign Ministers and the final statement of the Extraordinary Open-ended Executive Committee Meeting at the Level of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States. They emphasized the centrality of the Palestinian cause to the Arab and Islamic nation, the need to adhere to the peace process as a strategic option for the conflict, based on the two-state solution, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions, the Arab Peace Initiative and adopted international references.
The Cabinet reviewed the (Ouagadougou Declaration) issued at the end of the 15th Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Member States (PUIC) in Burkina Faso, citing affirmation of its adherence to the basic principles of the OIC, the continuation of positive and effective contributions to the development of the work of the United Nations and its specialized agencies, including establishing world peace and regional security, and rejection of all extremist ideas and terrorist acts that target many Islamic and non-Islamic countries.
The Minister of Media indicated that the Cabinet considered the Kingdom's financial support for a plan of action, activities and programs of the United Nations Office for the Alliance of Civilizations, which it had undertaken over the next 3 years, as an expression of the Kingdom's appreciation for the role being played by the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations and its efforts in spreading a culture of peace and tolerance and strengthening the role of multiple and preventive diplomacy, protection of religious sites, and an extension of the Kingdom's role in spreading love and peace and its call for coexistence, rejection of hatred and violence.
The Cabinet praised the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques of the work of the Global Cybersecurity Forum in its first edition in Riyadh, and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, to adopt two initiatives to serve global cybersecurity, namely "protection of Children in the cyber world "and" empowering women in cybersecurity ", within the framework of the Kingdom's march of modernization and development in accordance with its Vision 2030, which drew directions and goals to reach a vibrant society and a prosperous economy, and to a Saudi cyber space that achieves the highest standards in international security and reliability, realizing the magnitude of renewed challenges in the countries of the world while expanding the uses of technology in all walks of life, and promoting international cooperation in this field.
The Cabinet issued the following decisions:
First:
The Cabinet authorized the Minister of Interior or his deputy to discuss with the Zambian side a draft memorandum of understanding in the field of civil protection and civil defense between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the government of the Republic of Zambia, sign it, and submit the final version to complete legal procedures.
Second:
The Cabinet approved the charter establishing the Council of Arab and African States bordering the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden. A royal decree has been prepared.
Third:
The Cabinet authorized the Minister of Foreign Affairs or his deputy to discuss with the Namibian side a draft general agreement for cooperation between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the government of the Republic of Namibia, sign it, and submit the final version to complete the legal procedures.
Fourth:
The Cabinet approved a memorandum of understanding in the field of Islamic affairs between the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the Islamic Sheikhdom of the Republic of Kosovo.
Fifth:
The Cabinet authorized the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage or his representative to discuss and sign with the Ethiopian side a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of tourism between the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
Sixth:
The Cabinet approved an establishment of the following authorities: Literature, Publishing and Translation; Museums; Heritage; Films; Libraries; Architecture and Design; Music; Theater and Performing Arts; Visual Arts; Culinary Arts, and Fashion), and authorized the Minister of Culture to be Chairman of the Boards of Directors of these commissions until the board of directors of each commission is formed.
Seventh:
The Cabinet approved an amendment of the provision mentioned in the deficit of the second item of its resolution No. (229).
The Cabinet approved a number of promotions at 14th and 15th ranks as follows:
1- Fahd bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Abduljabbar is promoted to the post of Legal Advisor (15th Rank) at the Ministry of Justice.
2- Sulaiman bin Salim bin Rajeh Al-Raheef is promoted to the post of Legal Advisor (14th Rank) at the Ministry of Justice.
3- Engineer Fahd bin Saad bin Nasser bin Husaynan is promoted to the post of Architect Advisor (14th Rank) at the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs.
4- Engineer Ahmed bin Abdulrahman bin Musa Al-Salim is promoted to the post of Architect Advisor (14th Rank) at the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs.
5- Mohammed bin Awadhah bin Mohammed Al-Shehri is promoted to the post of Geologist (14th Rank) at the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture.
6- Walid bin Ghazi bin Abdulrahman Bafagih is promoted to the post of Director General of the Minister’s Office (14th Rank) at the Ministry of Media.
7- Abdulrahman bin Nasser bin Abdullah Al-Muslam is promoted to the post of Cultural Advisor (14th Rank) at the Ministry of Media.
The Cabinet reviewed a number of general topics on its agenda including annual reports of the Ministry of Environment, Water, Agriculture; Ministry of Economy and Planning; the National Center for Performance Measurement; the Ministry of Transport; the previously known as the General Authority of Meteorology and Environment Protection; the Saline Water Conversion Corporation; and the Capital Market Authority and made appropriate recommendations in their regard.
