Saudi-UK CEO Forum Kicks off in London
In conjunction with His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defense's official visit to the United Kingdom, the Saudi-UK CEO Forum is kicked off here today. This event is organized by the Saudi Center for Strategic Partnerships.
The forum aims to set up the future of economic and investment relations and open news aspects of cooperation and partnership between the two countries in accordance with the Kingdom Vision 2030.
Within activities of the 1st panel session titled "An Era of Transformation: From Vision to Implementation", Eng. Khaled bin Abdulaziz Al Falih, Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources, highlighted the ambitious vision and the importance of its implementation through harnessing all potentials for this national vision which carries 12 programs in various fields, including energy and industry sectors.
Eng. Al Falih pointed out that the Kingdom's logistic services are the core of local production, filling gaps in the fields of oil, gas and renewable energy, contributing to international competitiveness and exporting the Saudi services and goods that will be between the Kingdom and Britain, as the Kingdom did with the United States of America, China and others.
He added that the Saudi-UK Strategic Partnership brings about eight joint programs where the United Kingdom is the third state dealing with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in addition to the United States of America and China.
Al Falih stressed that sectors, such as renewable energy, advanced technology and medicines, will grow at a faster pace, pointing out that the great opportunities are waiting the UK companies to contribute in this growth, particularly in the chemicals sector.
He affirmed that Saudi Arabia and Britain are strategic allies, highlighting programs of mining, oil cooperation and suitable environment. He disclosed that the world seeks to be without carbon. The Minister of Energy confirmed the Kingdom's ambitious steps of using the renewable energy.
For his part, Dr. Majed Al-Kassabi, Minister of Commerce and Investment, highlighted the history of trade in the Arabian Peninsula, pointing out that the Kingdom is now one of the largest countries in the world economy and its ambitious vision 2030 holds a future of the modern life while maintaining its heritage and renewing its strategic partnerships through its ambitious projects.
In the panel of investment fields through the Kingdom Vision 2030, Dr. Mohammed bin Mazyad Al-Tuwaijri, Minister of Economy and Planning, disclosed that the Kingdom is rich of its potentials and capabilities and implemented many reforms before attracting the global investments, such as the judicial system and financial markets regulations.
The 2nd panel discussion titled "Women in Leadership: Empowerment Rising Leaders", Princess Rima bint Bandar bin Sultan, Undersecretary of the General Sports Authority for Planning and Development, stressed the empowerment of the Saudi woman at the official levels, including the Shura Council.
She highlighted that the Saudi leadership seeks to configure the appropriate environment and atmosphere for the success of the Saudi woman in the sports field.
For her part, Dr. Tamader Al-Rammah, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Development, has lauded a great cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom in the field of training.
