Lending a helping hand
The Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum inaugurated by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdualziz is the first forum of its kind in the region. It is a platform for finding practical solutions to humanitarian problems.
As many as 41 million persons living in 37 countries are in need of humanitarian aid. This great number of the needy people must receive every possible help.
The Kingdom has extended humanitarian assistance, loans and grants to several underdeveloped countries worth SR 54 billion in 2014, equaling 1.9% of the Kingdom’s total national income, leading the world in this regard.
The Kingdom has been supporting humanitarian and relief efforts with due sincerity unlike many countries that do so out of political considerations.
Saudi Arabia does not politicize any of the aid it extends. On the contrary, the Kingdom’s humanitarian assistance worldwide is grounded in its Islamic beliefs which call for helping anyone in distress. This has been widely recognized by the international community.
