Arab Parliament Welcomes Venezuela's Decision to Raise Diplomatic Representation in Palestine

The Arab Parliament welcomed the Republic of Venezuela's decision to promote its diplomatic representation to Palestine from a representative office to an embassy.

In a statement today, the Arab Parliament praised Venezuela's unaltered support to the Palestinian state and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people at all levels.

The pan-Arab legislature hailed Venezuela's decision as a culmination of its recognition of the Palestinian state in 2009 and in continuation of Caracas' support to Palestinians and their just and legitimate cause.

The Arab Parliament welcomed Venezuela's decision as contributing to establishing an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, especially in light of the barbaric attacks by the occupation authorities and settlers against the Palestinian people.

The parliament also stressed that the Venezuelan move is a strong indication of the change in the international community's position toward ending the occupation and establishing a Palestinian state, calling on countries of the world to take similar steps in support of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
