Arab Parliament Praises UN Resolution on Two-State Solution
The Arab Parliament has welcomed the UN General Assembly's adoption of a resolution endorsing the New York Declaration on the two-state solution, calling it a crucial step that reflects a strong international position in support of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed Al Yamahi stated that the resolution embodies the collective will of the international community to achieve a just and comprehensive peace and praised the significant efforts of both the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the French Republic for co-sponsoring the July conference that led to the declaration.
Al Yamahi also commended the countries that voted in favor of the resolution for their commitment to international legitimacy and law and urged the UN Security Council to take practical steps to implement the resolution, stop the crimes of the Israeli occupation, and ensure the resumption of the peace process. The goal, he said, is to guarantee the freedom and independence of the Palestinian people and establish their sovereign state with Jerusalem as its capital.
