Formula E Announces Record 21-Race Calendar to Launch High-Power GEN4 Era
The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship has unveiled its largest calendar ever for the 2026–2027 season, featuring a record 21 races across 13 global cities.
The season marks the debut of the sustainable, 600 kW (over 815 hp) GEN4 car—built from 100% recyclable or reusable materials—and introduces a dynamic double-race weekend format that pairs the classic E-Prix with a shorter, high-speed "E-Prix Unleashed."
To accommodate the GEN4's superior power, the championship is expanding its use of permanent, world-class tracks while maintaining its city-racing identity. New additions include the Circuit of the Americas in Austin and the MASCOT Zandvoort Circuit in the Netherlands, alongside a move for the London E-Prix to the Brands Hatch.
The record-breaking season will kick off in Saudi Arabia with two night races at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit on December 18 and 19, 2026. After a global tour across the Americas, Europe, and Asia, optimized regionally to minimize shipping emissions, the historic championship will conclude in July 2027 with double-headers in Shanghai and Tokyo.
