7.4-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Off Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula

 A 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Russia's Far East, near the Kamchatka Peninsula, on Saturday.
 The US Geological Survey reported that the quake's epicenter was located 111 kilometers east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky at a depth of 39.5 kilometers.
 The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued a warning for hazardous waves up to one meter high along some Russian coastal areas close to the epicenter. The center also noted that Japan, Hawaii, and other Pacific islands might experience smaller waves of less than 30 centimeters.
