Folk Maritime Expands Fleet with 3 New Vessels to Enhance Regional Connectivity

Folk Maritime Services Company, a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), today announced the addition of three new container vessels to its fleet. The ships will begin operating in June, serving navigation routes along the Red Sea, the Arabian Gulf, and the Indian subcontinent.

The three new vessels are the 1,868-unit Folk Dammam, the 1,118-unit Folk Jubail, and the 702-unit Folk Yanbu. They were registered under the Saudi flag at Jeddah Islamic Port.

The new additions come within the expansion program that the company started by introducing the first owned ship to its fleet carrying the Saudi flag, namely the 1,868-unit Jeddah Folk in September 2024, and the 2,015-unit Jazan Folk in April 2025.

With the three new vessels, its operational fleet will increase to eight ships -- five owned and three leased. The expansion contributes to the goals of transforming the logistics sector under Vision 2030 to enhance the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s position as a global logistics center.
