Under Patronage of HRH Crown Prince, AlUla Camel Cup Winners Awarded

Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU), the AlUla Camel Cup concluded its second edition today.
Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz presented awards to the winners at the closing ceremony held at the Mughayra Heritage Sports Village in AlUla Governorate.
Organized by the RCU and the Saudi Camel Racing Federation (SCRF), from April 24 to 27, AlUla Camel Cup aimed to elevate camel racing as a symbol of Saudi heritage and culture. The event highlighted the unique natural and cultural environment of AlUla, serving as a culmination point for the busy camel racing season across the Kingdom and region.
Minister of Culture and RCU Governor Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, SCRF President Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, and RCU Acting CEO Abeer AlAkel expressed their gratitude to HRH the Crown Prince for his sponsorship of the AlUla Camel Cup and his unwavering support for camel racing, recognizing its importance as a cultural cornerstone of Saudi Arabia.
This year's Cup further underscored AlUla's prominent position in the world of camel racing, coinciding with the Kingdom’s designation of 2024 as the "Year of the Camel." The event offered the public a chance to immerse themselves in the Kingdom's rich cultural heritage through a captivating sporting spectacle.
AlUla Camel Cup provided an exceptional cultural experience, aiming to revive and celebrate the age-old traditions of camel racing. It served as a platform to share the rich history of this sport, dating back to the 7th century, while highlighting the enduring role camels play in Saudi culture, both past and present.
