SFD Joins Signing Ceremony to Complete King Abdullah Medical City Project in Bahrain

Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) CEO Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al-Marshad participated in the signing ceremony to complete the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Medical City project in Bahrain.

 The ceremony was held in the presence of the Chairman of Bahrain’s Supreme Council of Health Lieutenant General Dr. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and Saudi Minister of Education Yousef Al-Benyan.

 Saudi Arabia is financing the project with a contribution of SAR1 billion through the SFD.

 The project involves completing and equipping a hospital with a capacity of 276 beds, featuring specialized departments and medical centers across a total built-up area of 70,000 square meters. The medical city will also be equipped with cutting-edge medical equipment and devices for the university hospital, in line with the highest international standards.

 The initiative aims to empower medical professionals, provide practical training opportunities for students, and enhance healthcare services across key specialties, including internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, and surgery. The project is expected to support the development of an integrated healthcare system that serves a wide range of beneficiaries.

 The signing ceremony was also attended by Bahrain’s Minister of Education Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Public Works Eng. Ibrahim Al-Hawaj, Minister of Health Dr. Jalila bint Al-Sayed, and Arabian Gulf University President Dr. Saad Al-Fuhaid.
