Saudi Student Chosen by ISEF to Engage with Global Experts in Science, Technology, and Medicine

Saudi student Areej Abdullah Al-Qarni was selected for the second consecutive year to join a panel discussion with global experts in science, technology, and medicine at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF 2025) held in Columbus, Ohio.

Al-Qarni was chosen from among hundreds of students worldwide for the exclusive opportunity, highlighting her exceptional performance in the field. She is part of the 41-member Saudi national team participating in ISEF, competing alongside more than 1,700 students from 70 countries for the grand awards.

This year, Al-Qarni’s project focuses on carbon capture through cooling, a promising solution to the challenges posed by climate change.

Each year, ISEF organizers select a group of outstanding students from around the globe to pose questions to innovation leaders during the Innovation and Technology Forum. The initiative aims to connect the next generation of scientists with decision-makers in technology and entrepreneurship.

ISEF is recognized as the world’s largest platform for high school research and innovation projects. Entries are evaluated by an elite group of international scientists and experts, offering participants a unique opportunity to present their work to a global audience of specialists.
