UNA Showcases Future Projects at Islamic Conference of Ministers

The Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA) presented its prospective projects during the meeting of the committee affiliated with the Islamic Conference of Ministers of Culture, Youth, Information, Human Rights, and Family Affairs. The virtual session held yesterday with representatives of OIC institutions reviewed initiatives that UNA plans to implement under its future agenda.

 In the media sector, UNA announced the organization of an international exhibition in Jeddah on media services and the role of journalism in promoting intra-OIC trade in addition to hosting a global forum on the future of cultural journalism, in cooperation with the OIC General Secretariat and with the participation of cultural media senior editors from member states.

 It revealed plans for an international forum for OIC member states on the role of sports journalism in bringing Islamic nations closer and enhancing understanding of their cultures.

 UNA unveiled projects currently underway, including a one-year "Media City" program, aimed at establishing and implementing a pioneering media hub that integrates media, culture, economy, and tourism. Additionally, UNA announced the hosting of an Esports Seminar on September 4, in collaboration with the OIC and the Ministry of Sports.

 The committee meeting further reviewed consolidated reports from the OIC General Secretariat and the General Directorate for Cultural, Social, and Family Affairs, which highlighted the achievements of specialized OIC bodies and examined upcoming projects. The session concluded with a set of practical recommendations intended to strengthen cultural and social cooperation among member states.
