SDRPY Supports Higher Education in Yemen Through Expansion of Saba Region University
The University of Saba Region in Marib Governorate has achieved notable progress in its infrastructure and educational capacity following the implementation of an expansion and development project supported by the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY), as part of efforts to support the education sector, improve the academic environment, and keep pace with the continuous increase in student numbers.
The project included the construction of 16 modern classrooms, contributing to increasing the university’s capacity and reducing overcrowding in classrooms, which had been one of the main challenges facing the educational process.
With the expansion completed, classrooms have become more organized and better equipped, providing an improved learning environment and enhancing academic achievement. The new classrooms have also helped reduce pressure on educational infrastructure and facilitate the regular conduct of studies.
The project also supported operations through the construction of a fully integrated administrative building, in addition to furnishing facilities for students and faculty members. This helped organize academic work and streamline procedures, positively reflecting on institutional efficiency within the university.
This development represents a model for efforts to support education in Yemen, as investment in educational infrastructure contributes to improving the quality of academic outcomes, enhancing opportunities for sustainable development, and providing qualified cadres capable of meeting the requirements of the next phase.
