Al-Muhammadiyah Mountains: Natural Formations Shaping Al-Shafa in Taif
On the western slopes of Al-Shafa in Taif Governorate, the Al-Muhammadiyah Mountains form a natural landscape of successive peaks, slopes, and open valleys. Mountain formations blend with vegetation, offering sweeping views of the Sarawat Mountains and the Tihama plains.
The Al-Muhammadiyah Mountains are distinguished by their varied rock formations and colors, as well as cracks and cavities shaped by erosion over time. Tall juniper trees and aromatic shrubs are scattered across ravines and slopes, providing natural habitats for migratory and local birds and small wildlife.
Tour guide Ahmed Al-Juaid told the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) that the Al-Muhammadiyah Mountains offer a distinctive nature experience, not only through their scenic views but also through opportunities to explore the area's natural features and surroundings.
Al-Juaid noted that the mountains' varied terrain offers opportunities for mountain climbing and camping in suitable locations. He stressed the importance of following safe routes and trails and being accompanied by qualified guides. He added that the mountains' natural features offer promising opportunities for nature-based tourism.
