K.A.CARE Participates in CONUSAF International Meeting on Nuclear Reactors
King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (K.A.CARE) participated in the second international meeting of the Consortium of Users of Thermal-Hydraulics Computational Tools for Nuclear Reactor Safety and Design (CONUSAF), held in the city of Pisa in Italy, with the participation of a group of experts and researchers from international entities specialized in the nuclear field.
K.A.CARE’s participation included the presentation of three specialized technical papers reviewing the results of its contribution to the 2026 joint benchmark study related to the Counter-Current Flow Limitation (CCFL) phenomenon using advanced computational programs, in addition to providing further analysis using an open-source program to simulate fluid motion.
The city also presented a proposal for a future benchmark study for 2027, addressing heat transfer within microchannels in advanced steam generator technology.
This participation comes as part of K.A.CARE’s commitment to actively contribute to the development of nuclear reactor analysis and safety technologies, enhance the Kingdom’s presence in international scientific forums, exchange expertise with specialized research entities, and support the development of national capabilities in this field.
