King Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority Announces Updated Entry, Picnicking Regulations for Al-Suman, Al-Dahna
King Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority has announced updated entry and picnicking regulations for Al-Suman and Al-Dahna areas, located within the geographical scope of the reserve. The updates aim to preserve the natural environment, vegetation, and wildlife while also promoting ecotourism through public nature excursions and outdoor enjoyment.
According to the updated regulations, visitors may access the reserve daily from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, provided they obtain prior authorization via the authority’s official website.
To obtain a permit, visitors must submit a request at least two days prior to their visit, including details about the visitor and their companions, the type of vehicles to be used, and a commitment to abide by environmental regulations. Residents of administrative centers within the reserve who are registered with the authority are exempt from this requirement.
The authority emphasized the importance of adhering to the reserve’s regulations, most notably the prohibition on hunting, wood gathering, lighting fires directly on the ground, driving over vegetation, littering, creating noise, causing visual pollution, or any actions that harm the ecosystem. These measures aim to minimize adverse environmental impacts, especially in areas rich in flora and wildlife, which have shown significant signs of recovery in recent years.
This regulatory update aligns with the 2030 strategic objectives of the Kingdom’s royal reserves and the goals of the Saudi Green Initiative, which seeks to preserve environmental gains that have become evident shortly after implementing conservation measures. The initiative also supports the growth of wildlife and vegetation in the reserve’s flourishing basins and meadows.
