King Salman Park Finishes Construction of MSE Walls
The King Salman Park Foundation announced the park's completion of the MSE (mechanically stabilized earth) retaining walls, marking a significant milestone in the ongoing development of one of the world’s largest urban parks.
The foundation stated that the retaining walls extend for 17 kilometers and utilize 122,500 tons of locally sourced stones from the city of Riyadh.
The retaining wall highlights the progress the King Salman Park Foundation development project has achieved as well as its role in stabilizing the soil and shaping the park’s landscape, which features valleys, hills, and plateaus inspired by the Najd region.
Director of Projects Eng. Ahmed Al-Barrak explained that the completion of the MSE walls represents a fundamental step in shaping the park's features, and they extend beneath the terrain to maintain ground stability and enhance the site’s natural aesthetics.
