ZATCA Foils Two Smuggling Attempts, Seizes Captagon Pills, Cocaine

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) thwarted two drug smuggling attempts at Duba Port and Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport, seizing 52,352 Captagon pills and 3.8 kilograms of cocaine concealed in a shipment and a passenger’s luggage.

ZATCA spokesperson Hamoud Al-Harbi confirmed that following the successful interceptions, ZATCA coordinated with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to apprehend the intended recipients within the Kingdom, resulting in the arrest of four individuals.

Al-Harbi emphasized ZATCA's commitment to maintaining strict control over the Kingdom's imports and exports to enhance societal security by curbing the smuggling of illicit substances and other contraband. He urged the public to support these efforts by reporting smuggling crimes confidentially via the dedicated number 1910, email at 1910@zatca.gov.sa, or international number 009661910, noting that financial rewards are provided for accurate information.
