RGA Clarifies Trucks Dimensions, Weight Limits in Saudi Highway Code

The Roads General Authority (RGA) has provided clear guidelines on the legal dimensions and weight limits for trucks according to the Saudi Highway Code. Adhering to these limits is crucial for preserving the road network and enhancing safety, as roads are among the most important assets to maintain.
The RGA specified that trucks should not exceed 23 meters in length, 2.6 meters in width, and 4.8 meters in height. Violating these dimensions will result in a SAR 1,000 fine.
The RGA emphasized the importance of adhering to the legal weight limits for trucks, which should be distributed according to the number of axles. Trucks with two axles are allowed 21 tons, those with three axles 34 tons, those with four axles 42 tons, and those with five axles 45 tons. The RGA stated that the fine for exceeding the permissible weights is SAR200 for every 100 kilograms, up to a maximum of SAR100,000.
The RGA stressed the importance of paying fines for exceeding weight and dimension limits before entering the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Moreover, the RGA highlighted the significance of adhering to legal dimensions and weights to preserve the road network and achieve the road sector's strategic objectives, focusing on safety and aiming to reach the sixth global rank in road quality.
