
Saudi Assistant Deputy Minister of Finance for Multilateral Affairs Heads Kingdom's Delegation at Meeting of Economic & Social Council of Arab League
The Assistant Deputy Minister for Multilateral Affairs at the Saudi Ministry of Finance, Mr. Naif Bin Mohammed Alenzi, headed the Kingdom's delegation at the September 3, 2025 meeting of the 116th regular session of the Economic and Social Council for the Arab League. The meeting was held at the ministerial level at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo to discuss economic and social issues related to joint Arab action.
The meeting participants discussed a number of important topics that are a priority in promoting the path of Arab economic development and supporting efforts aimed at implementing a sustainable development plan. The Council emphasized the importance of strengthening joint Arab economic and social action at a time of rapid changes in the global economy, as well as the importance of moving forward in the implementation of the 2030 sustainable development plan.
The Economic and Social Council is one of the main organs of the Arab League. It includes Ministers of Arab countries who arespecialized in economic and financial affairs. The Council convenes two sessions every year with the aim of achieving cooperation between member states to advance their economies, exploit natural resources, and facilitate bilateral trade. The Council also holds preparatory meetings for Arab summits in the economic and social fields.
