Significant Growth in 2025 Places Saudi Civil Aviation at the Core of Vision 2030

-- In 2025, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s civil aviation sector achieved remarkable growth, transforming into an integrated ecosystem that solidified its role as a cornerstone of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, strengthened its contribution to Saudi Vision 2030, and enhanced the Kingdom’s position as a logistical gateway connecting three continents.
 Significant developments, such as increased infrastructure investments, sustainability initiatives, and expanded seat capacity at key airports, reinforced the Kingdom’s status as a leading global aviation hub. Passenger numbers exceeded 140 million, an increase of about 9%, while the number of international destinations grew to 176.
 The Kingdom demonstrated its commitment to serving pilgrims by successfully implementing a plan for Hajj 1446 AH, transporting over 19 million passengers on more than 128,000 flights. The “Passengers with No Bags” service assisted over a million pilgrims, while more than 1.6 million bags were shipped. Additionally, the initiative connecting pilgrims to the Haramain High-Speed Railway benefited 253,000 passengers.
 Internationally, the Kingdom was re-elected to the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for the 2025–2028 term, reflecting its influence in global aviation decision-making.
 Furthermore, the year saw significant infrastructure advancements, including the launch of master plans for key airports and the phased opening of International Terminal 1 at King Khalid International Airport.
 The Kingdom's overall airport capacity reached new heights. In digital transformation, the establishment of the Air Cargo Security Control Center improved logistics management through artificial intelligence, making the aviation sector a vital driver for trade and supply in the Kingdom.
