Buraidah Dates Marketing Links Farmers with Buyers at Home and Abroad
The marketing of dates at the Buraidah Dates Carnival lies at the heart of efforts to promote one of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's most prominent agricultural products. Marketers compete to showcase varieties from regional farms in a professional manner, guided by precise standards for evaluation, display, and negotiation.
Marketing plays a key role in regulating market activity and maintaining fair prices that serve the interests of both sellers and buyers. Marketers are distinguished by their inherited expertise, their skill in sorting varieties, and their ability to provide accurate information on the quality of dates offered.
The marketing process is conducted with complete transparency, with prices announced in the presence of traders and investors from within and outside the Kingdom, in a competitive environment that ensures fair market value and prevents speculative practices.
In an interview with the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), marketer Ahmed Al-Mashiti said marketing companies at the Buraidah Dates Carnival play a pivotal role in driving economic activity and connecting farmers with consumers and investors domestically and internationally, through an integrated system founded on transparency and the use of the latest management and trading technologies.
He added that these companies open broader horizons for promoting Qassim dates, provide seasonal employment opportunities for Saudi youth, and enable them to gain hands-on experience in marketing and related services. He affirmed that these efforts align with the aspirations of the wise leadership to enhance the global position of Saudi dates and strengthen the Kingdom's position as one of the world's largest producers and exporters of this strategic agricultural product.
Marketer Sufyan Al-Masoud said marketing activity at the carnival is marked by intense competition among marketers, traders, and farm owners, noting that the Buraidah Dates Carnival holds a Guinness World Records title for the world's largest attendance at a date festival.
