Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Royal Reserve, NCVC Launch Rangeland Rehabilitation Initiative
The Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Royal Reserve Development Authority, in collaboration with the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC), has launched an initiative to rehabilitate natural rangelands through seed dispersal and rainwater harvesting. The initiative covers 313 hectares within Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Royal Reserve and King Khalid Royal Reserve.
The initiative aims to enhance vegetation cover, restore natural habitats, and support biodiversity conservation as part of the 2026 National Greening Season.
It covers two sites: Faydat Al-Majlis in Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Royal Reserve, spanning 140 hectares, and Faydat Al-Qara’a in King Khalid Royal Reserve, covering 173 hectares. The project reflects a joint commitment to developing vegetation cover and restoring ecological balance in the targeted areas.
The initiative builds on ongoing cooperation between the authority and the center to implement environmental projects aimed at rehabilitating natural landscapes, mitigating desertification, and promoting the sustainable use of natural resources. These efforts contribute to the objectives of the Saudi Green Initiative and Saudi Vision 2030.
