
Jeddah Port Customs Seize Over 1.5 Million Hidden Captagon Pills
The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) at Jeddah Islamic Port has intercepted a major drug smuggling attempt, seizing 1,586,118 Captagon pills concealed within an incoming shipment.
According to ZATCA, the shipment, consisting of insulating panels, underwent thorough customs procedures and inspections using advanced security technology and equipment, which led to the discovery of the concealed pills within the panels' structures.
After the seizure, ZATCA worked with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to arrest three individuals in the Kingdom who were the intended recipients of the contraband.
Emphasizing its commitment to safeguarding society, ZATCA affirmed its ongoing efforts to strengthen customs controls on imports and exports. It urged public cooperation in combating smuggling to protect both society and the national economy.
