Benin Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Visits IMCTC Headquarters and Praises Its Efforts and Programs

Secretary-General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) Major General Mohammed Al-Moghedi received today at the coalition’s headquarters in Riyadh Ambassador of the Republic of Benin to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Adam Bagoudou Zakari, during an official visit aimed at reviewing IMCTC’s efforts, programs, and initiatives in combating terrorism and extremism.

 During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the coalition's key programs and initiatives across its four domains: ideological, media, military, and counter-terrorist financing. They also discussed ways to enhance cooperation and coordination to support international efforts to combat terrorism and promote security and stability.

 During the visit, the ambassador was briefed on the coalition's role in building capabilities and developing national competencies in member states through training programs, workshops, and specialized initiatives implemented in partnership with relevant regional and international organizations.

 Ambassador Zakari expressed his admiration for the coalition's capabilities, programs, and initiatives, praising its pivotal role in unifying international and regional efforts to combat terrorism and extremism. He noted Benin’s interest in gaining a broader understanding of the coalition's programs and in benefiting from its specialized expertise, expressing his aspiration to strengthen cooperation and joint efforts in the coming period in support of shared counterterrorism objectives.

 For his part, Major General Al-Moghedi affirmed that the IMCTC continues its efforts to support member states and partners through specialized programs and initiatives that enhance national capabilities and address common security challenges. He stressed the importance of expanding cooperation and exchanging expertise to increase the effectiveness of international counterterrorism efforts.

 At the conclusion of the visit, both sides underscored the importance of collective action and continuous coordination among countries and relevant institutions, emphasizing that cooperation and knowledge-sharing are fundamental pillars for enhancing security and stability and confronting terrorist threats in all their forms.
