Numbering 92 Gates in Second Saudi Expansion of Grand Mosque to Enhance Ease of Movement, Improve Visitor Experience
The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques launched a project to number the gates of the Second Saudi Expansion. The effort aims to improve services for Umrah performers and ease movement inside the Grand Mosque.
The project included installing 92 gate-number signs across the Second Saudi Expansion. The signs were designed to reflect the building’s aesthetic identity, ensuring clear numbering and enhancing the site’s aesthetic value while preserving its sanctity and reverence.
The authority said the project reflects its focus on details that combine function, service and aesthetics. The work aligns with the Grand Mosque’s global standing, improves the quality of the built environment, and helps visitors move smoothly at all times.
Noting the gate number on entry helps worshippers navigate and pinpoint their location, especially during peak periods and seasons that draw large crowds of visitors and worshippers. The authority said the step supports a smoother and safer experience for Umrah performers.
