New Project Brings AlUla’s Heritage to Life Through Local Women’s Creativity

In the heart of AlUla’s Old Town, where mud-brick houses preserve the memory of early life, Al-Bandari Ibrahim launched a cultural project that showcases the creativity of local women by transforming heritage into a living, interactive experience that reflects the community's identity.
 The project is built on both tangible and intangible heritage as foundations of cultural identity and is set within the historic Old Town to emphasize authenticity and continuity across generations. Local residents play a central role in the project, strengthening their participation in tourism while benefiting economically by sharing traditional knowledge and inherited skills, including clothing, artifacts, handicrafts, and agricultural practices.
 Visitors are invited to wear traditional attire, take photographs, and create personalized souvenirs through hands-on experiences that deepen their understanding of AlUla’s heritage. The project offers an immersive tourism experience that aligns with AlUla’s growth while preserving its cultural value, contributing to the documentation of heritage practices and transforming them into a sustainable cultural and tourism asset.
