MWL Urges Immediate Action as Famine Officially Declared in Gaza

The Muslim World League (MWL) warned the international community of the grave consequences of the ongoing criminal practices of the Israeli occupation government and its persistence in committing horrific violations with deliberate disregard for all international and humanitarian laws and norms. The warning came in light of the shocking official declaration that Gaza City has entered a state of famine, according to the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) report.
In a statement, MWL Secretary-General and Organization of Muslim Scholars Chairman Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Al-Issa stressed that Israel's extremist government poses a serious threat to the Palestinian people in particular, and to the region and the international community at large. He said it represents the greatest obstacle to all efforts aimed at halting the war, protecting civilians, and achieving the just, comprehensive, and lasting peace that all aspire to for the region.
Dr. Al-Issa renewed the MWL’s urgent call for the international community to shoulder its moral and legal responsibilities and take swift, serious action to end the famine and genocide being committed against the people of Gaza, and to stop the war machine of the occupation government, which has persisted in its tyranny and disregard for the lives, rights, and human dignity of the Palestinian people.
