Crafts, Heritage Industries in Aseer Reflect Cultural Presence Blending Authenticity, Contemporary Arts
Traditional crafts and heritage industries in Aseer Region have returned to the forefront of official and public attention in recent years, through initiatives aimed at reintroducing them in a contemporary context.
The Saudi Artisanal Company has invited interested parties to attend the artisans' gathering in Abha, to be held this weekend, aiming to empower emerging artisans and open avenues for collaboration within an environment that brings together creativity and the exchange of expertise, reflecting a growing interest in transforming traditional crafts into a sustainable productive sector that connects artisans with new opportunities in markets and events.
The crafts and heritage industries of Aseer Region represent a living model of an integrated way of life that evolved over centuries, drawing on local natural resources such as wood, leather, metals, and clay to form a deeply rooted cultural and economic identity across the Sarawat Mountains and Tihamah, while efforts continue to document and revive these crafts as a pillar of the creative economy and a means of connecting new generations with their cultural heritage.
