Second International Conference on Combating Discrimination Against Islam and Muslims Opens at Arab League Headquarters

The second International Conference on Combating Discrimination Against Islam and Muslims opened today at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League. The two-day conference focuses on efforts to combat discrimination against Islam and Muslims.

 The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is participating in the conference with a delegation headed by Secretary-General of the King Abdulaziz Center for Cultural Communication Dr. Abdullah Al-Fouzan.

 The conference is discussing several key topics, including the role of religious institutions and Islamic centers in promoting moderate religious discourse, best national, regional, and international practices for addressing hate speech, the role of educational institutions in promoting tolerance and acceptance of others, and the role of civil society organizations in combating discrimination against Islam and Muslims and empowering youth to promote a culture of coexistence and mutual respect.

 The conference brings together representatives of entities concerned with intercultural dialogue and religious tolerance, including governments, international, regional, and national organizations, as well as civil society organizations and youth.
