Jazan City for Primary and Downstream Industries Uses AI to Enhance Project Management Efficiency

Jazan City for Primary and Downstream Industries is using artificial intelligence (AI) and smart engineering solutions to manage projects and monitor their implementation. Digital tools help analyze project execution data, review engineering plans, and detect discrepancies between completed work and approved designs. These technologies enhance planning efficiency and monitoring accuracy, in line with the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu's efforts to develop advanced industrial cities.
These efforts are integrated with Building Information Modeling (BIM), which brings together different engineering disciplines in a comprehensive 3D model. This enables potential clashes between project components to be identified and resolved at an early stage. Digital tools also improve the analysis of engineering information and support planning and implementation decisions, helping minimize late-stage modifications and reduce time, effort, and costs.
During the construction phase, the city uses the OpenSpace platform to document project implementation on-site through 360-degree cameras that provide a visual record of progress at construction sites. The platform links images to their actual locations and enables comparisons with BIM models. This supports progress monitoring and verification that work is proceeding in accordance with approved plans.
The digital system provides teams with a visual information base to review sites, track changes, and analyze available data. AI technologies also help accelerate information retrieval and improve the ability to identify and address issues by analyzing data and supporting monitoring procedures. This enhances the efficiency of engineering oversight and supports decision-making.
