GEA Chairman Announces Historic Attendance Record over 21,000 Spectators at Madison Square Garden
Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) and President of the Saudi Boxing Federation Turki Alalshikh announced the registration of a record attendance exceeding 21,000 spectators at Madison Square Garden in New York, United States, during the Ring 6 boxing event.
This figure represents the highest attendance recorded for a boxing event at the venue since 1968, placing the event among the most well-attended boxing nights in New York in recent years.
The record turnout coincided with the staging of Ring 6, which featured an action-packed night of high-profile bouts, headlined by the main event between Shakur Stevenson and Teofimo Lopez. The world-class matchup attracted significant public and media attention and contributed to the strong turnout inside the arena.
The turnout reflects the strong momentum surrounding the event and highlights boxing’s continued global appeal.
The significance of this achievement is further underscored by the architectural characteristics of Madison Square Garden, whose design and boxing-specific configurations impose capacity limitations on seating compared to other types of events.
The strong turnout reaffirms Madison Square Garden’s status as one of the world’s most prominent venues for major boxing events, long associated with legendary bouts and celebrated champions, and continues to host events that draw wide international attention.
