Eastern Municipality Launches Tree-Planting Season in Al-Khobar
Eastern Region Municipality has launched its tree-planting operations for the current agricultural season in Al-Khobar Governorate, including planting trees along more than 20 kilometers of roads, planting more than 20,000 trees and 100,000 shrubs, and expanding green spaces by more than 60,000 square meters.
The municipality said the initiative is part of its plans to enhance Al-Khobar’s urban environment, increase tree and green-space coverage, and create a more livable, human-centered city. Key elements include increasing the number of shade trees, expanding vegetation in residential neighborhoods, and improving the quality of life.
The efforts also aim to enhance the city’s appeal and air quality, preserve its urban character, and increase the per capita share of green spaces, in line with the strategies of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing.
