RGA: Smart Control Center Uses 130 AI-Powered Cameras to Monitor Road Network
The Roads General Authority (RGA) enhances the readiness of the Kingdom's road network and improves logistics efficiency through its Smart Control Center, which uses 130 AI-powered cameras to monitor the network around the clock, supporting faster emergency response, greater road safety, and a better experience for road users.
The RGA said that its Smart Control Center, operated by Saudi professionals, enables real-time monitoring and classification of vehicle traffic, as well as detection of traffic slowdowns across the road network. This allows rapid operational decision-making in the event of accidents or emergencies and improves the efficiency of traffic management.
The RGA noted that the center coordinates continuously with relevant authorities and dispatches maintenance teams to intervention sites, helping reduce response times, maintain smooth traffic flow, and enhance the operational efficiency of the road network.
The RGA added that deploying artificial intelligence technologies at the Smart Control Center forms part of its efforts to adopt the latest technological solutions in managing and operating the road network. The initiative strengthens road safety, improves the quality of services provided to road users, and aligns with the objectives of the road sector program.
