Arab Media Ministers to Highlight Media's Role in Driving Change at Saudi Media Forum 2026
Arab media ministers will participate in a panel discussion addressing the media's role in driving change, the challenges of public opinion, and shaping future generations, as part of the Saudi Media Forum 2026.
The forum will open on Monday in Riyadh under the theme "Media in an Evolving World." It will focus on the media's role in shaping public opinion, addressing digital and political transformations, and strengthening trust and credibility.
The panel discussion will review the state of media amid accelerating digital and political changes and the resulting responsibilities and challenges. These include combating misinformation, adapting to digital shifts, and reinforcing trust and credibility. The discussion will also present media strategies to promote cross-cultural understanding, enhance community engagement, and contribute to public policymaking.
The session will address several key themes, including the relationship between media and public opinion and its impact on political and social decision-making; digital transformations and technical challenges, particularly the influence of social media and artificial intelligence on news dissemination; and the balance between freedom of expression and responsibility in digital content, ensuring accuracy while protecting society from misinformation.
More than 300 leading media professionals, experts, academics, and specialists from inside and outside the Kingdom will participate in the forum. They will take part in more than 150 panel discussions exploring challenges and opportunities for developing the media industry at the local, regional, and international levels.
