Naoya Inoue Retains Super Bantamweight Title at 'Night of the Samurai' in Riyadh

Japanese boxer Naoya Inoue retained his undisputed super bantamweight title, defeating Mexico’s Alan Picasso by unanimous decision in the main event of "The Ring V: Night of the Samurai" held at the Mohammed Abdo Arena in Boulevard City, Riyadh, as part of Riyadh Season 2025.
 The match began cautiously, with Inoue asserting dominance in the second round and maintaining momentum into the third. In the fourth, both fighters traded punches evenly. During the fifth and sixth rounds, Picasso focused on defense, but Inoue's speed kept the momentum in his favor. The final rounds intensified, culminating in a unanimous decision for Inoue, preserving his undefeated record.
 Additionally, Japan’s Reito Tsutsumi defeated Mexico’s Leobardo Quintana in the featherweight division, securing a knockout in the fourth round. In the lightweight division, Dominican Edinson Garcia emerged victorious over Japan’s Taiga Imanaga by split decision, scoring a decisive knockdown in the eighth round.
 "The Ring V: Night of the Samurai" showcased one of the year’s premier boxing events, further establishing Riyadh as a key destination for international bouts and elite athletes.
