SDRPY Implements 9 Development Projects with Social Fund for Development

The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) signed an agreement to implement nine development projects with the Social Fund for Development, following their announcement a week ago as part of a package of vital development projects supporting the health and education sectors, and as an extension of support for Yemeni state institutions and the continuity of their work in serving the brotherly Yemeni people.

SDRPY was represented by General Supervisor Mohammed Al Jaber, while the Social Fund for Development was represented by Executive Director Hossam Qaid, in the presence of Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Qassem Mohammed Bahaibah, Minister of Education Tareq bin Salem Al Akbari, and Deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Nizar Basuhaib.

The development projects include nine main projects distributed across a number of governorates, comprising four health projects in Lahj, Taiz, and Al-Dhale. These include the construction of two rural hospitals in Taiz (Al-Mawasit) and Al-Dhale, in addition to a maternity and childhood center and an obstetric emergency center in Ras Al-Ara in Lahj Governorate.

The projects also include five educational projects to build model schools in Marib, Lahj, Al-Dhale, Shabwah, and Abyan. The schools will be equipped with science laboratories, computer laboratories, and sports and administrative facilities, aiming to provide an integrated and stimulating educational environment for students.

SDRPY has delivered more than 268 development projects and initiatives across various Yemeni governorates, serving the Yemeni people in eight essential sectors: education, health, water, energy, transport, agriculture and fisheries, development and support of Yemeni government capacities, and development programs.
