Passports Directorate: Integrated System Serves over 1.5 Million Pilgrims in Hajj 1447 AH from Arrival to Departure
The General Directorate of Passports is actively implementing its operational plans during the 1447 AH Hajj season to serve pilgrims through a comprehensive system. This system leverages both human and technical resources to streamline procedures at every stage of the pilgrim's journey, from arrival in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to departure after completing the rituals. These efforts aim to enhance operational efficiency and achieve high service quality standards. This year, the directorate facilitated the arrival of more than 1.5 million pilgrims through air, land, and sea ports, supported by qualified personnel and modern technologies to ensure quick processing and smooth movement at international entry points. This included advanced processing at ports along the Makkah Route Initiative, allowing pilgrims to complete their entry procedures in their home countries before arriving in the Kingdom. With the arrival phase completed and pilgrims having performed their Hajj rituals, the directorate is now implementing its operational plans for the departure phase at all international ports. Comprehensive field and technical preparations have been put in place to ensure the smooth flow of travel and the efficient handling of departing pilgrims during this stage. These measures include reinforcing departure points with qualified personnel and using advanced technologies, such as electronic gates and mobile counters, to expedite procedures. The directorate also showcased its capabilities by participating in the Hajj Security Forces military parade, highlighting its security, organizational, and service roles in assisting pilgrims while demonstrating the readiness of its personnel to carry out their duties with efficiency and professionalism.
