Comprehensive Operational Plans for 27th Night of Ramadan at Two Holy Mosques
As the 27th night of Ramadan approaches, millions of Muslims turn their focus to the Two Holy Mosques, anticipating one of the busiest nights of the holy month.
The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques is implementing a comprehensive operational plan to manage the expected crowds and ensure a safe and comfortable experience for all worshippers. Efforts include thorough cleaning and perfuming of carpets, additional prayer areas, and enhanced sanitization of courtyards. They have provided for the availability of blessed Zamzam water and upgraded the operational infrastructure, including electricity, air conditioning, lighting, and sound systems.
To manage crowds effectively, pathways and traffic controls have been established, along with a vehicle transportation service from nearby hotels. Interactive 3D maps and a “Where Are We?” card service have been launched to help visitors navigate the mosques, while mobile teams equipped with translation devices and newly established guest care centers assist worshippers from diverse backgrounds.
Additionally, a plan using IoT technology to manage restroom crowd flow will help direct visitors to less crowded areas. To further enhance the experience for worshippers and those observing Itikaf, the availability of the Quran in multiple copies, including Braille versions, and digital worshipper guides has been increased, creating a supportive and well-organized spiritual environment for all.
