Arafat Illuminated by 20,000 Lighting Units of Unique Designs for Hajj
The Makkah Municipality completed the implementation of a massive and advanced lighting network in Arafat, distinguished by its unique architectural style and innovative methods.
On the evening of Tarwiyah, the area presented a beautiful spectacle, thanks to the distinctive lighting installations meticulously arranged by the municipality's teams. The transformation turned the evening of Arafat into a glowing torch of light, imbuing the atmosphere with an added sense of reassurance and spirituality.
The municipality said that the network consists of approximately 20,000 lighting units of varying capacities, installed on roughly 5,000 towers and poles of diverse sizes and shapes. The units were strategically distributed to cover all streets and roads of Arafat, creating a comprehensive visual lighting model.
The municipality noted that it annually works to update and develop the lighting networks in the holy sites, increasing their number and maintaining all their components through early preparation. This year, preventative maintenance work specifically focused on certain locations in Arafat, including pedestrian paths and routes connecting Arafat, Muzdalifah, and other key sites.
