The campaign is designed to help installers and buyers safeguard their projects by making product verification intuitive and accessible. By introducing a tamper‑proof holographic fingerprint on selected cable SKUs and the Authentic Vision/Belden Authenticator app, we want to highlight the critical importance of using quality cables while providing an effective means to confirm authenticity. Without adding complexity, the campaign empowers customers to make informed choices and directs them towards authorised Belden distributors, thereby ensuring reliable performance, immediate and long-term project safety. 3- What is the main objective of Belden’s counterfeit-mitigation programme?

The programme is designed to protect critical projects by ensuring that only authentic Belden cables are used in critical applications. Belden partnered with Authentic Vision to launch a user-friendly app for instant cable authenticity checks. This app leverages advanced Holographic Fingerprint™ technology for secure identification, allowing users to simply scan the tamper-proof holographic label on each Belden package to instantly verify their cable's authenticity. This added layer of protection strengthens system performance and safety while safeguarding long‑term project investments by reducing the risk of reliability issues, safety hazards, and financial losses associated with non-authentic cables.

4- How does the counterfeit-detection process work from the moment a cable is scanned?

Using the Authentic Vision app, a user can scan a holographic fingerprint to determine its authenticity. If the fingerprint is invalid, the product is flagged as non-authentic, and the user is directed to a dedicated landing page titled ‘ WARNING: COUNTERFEIT PRODUCT DETECTED’. We have set this page up as a knowledge depository about the issue and to highlight the major risks associated with using non-authentic cables, including performance and reliability issues, safety hazards, and financial consequences. This measure  helps ensure  that only verified, high-quality cables are deployed in critical infrastructure and industrial applications.
