The award recognized his significant efforts and contributions to the development of sports for persons with disabilities and his continued support for the Paralympic movement at both the regional and international levels, in the presence of International Paralympic Committee (IPC) President Andrew Parsons.

The event, hosted for the first time in Central Asia, is considered one of the most prominent continental Paralympic gatherings. It saw the participation of more than 45 Asian countries, including national committee presidents, sports experts, and Paralympic figures.

SOPC Chief Executive and Secretary-General Abdulaziz Baeshen delivered a comprehensive presentation on Riyadh’s preparations to host the 2034 Asian Paralympic Games, covering sports infrastructure, accommodation, and transport plans, and highlighting the Kingdom’s successes in hosting major sporting events.

The APC conference, which concluded yesterday, featured sessions for exchanging expertise on developing sports for persons with disabilities, presentations of projects and programs by subcommittees, an address by the APC’s president on combating doping in sports, as well as presentations from international sports federations and regional working sessions.

On the sidelines of the conference, Prince Fahad bin Jalawi and Baeshen met with APC President Majid Al-Usaimi to discuss areas of cooperation and ways to strengthen partnerships for the development of Paralympic sports across the continent.
