International Report Highlights Madinah's Shift Toward Sustainable Urban Model, Enhanced Quality of Life

Madinah is strengthening its urban model within the framework of the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 through a human-centered development approach that enhances quality of life and balances urban development with the preservation of identity, thereby contributing to building a more sustainable and competitive city.
 A report issued by Oxford Business Group highlighted the integrated system of urban projects and initiatives being implemented in Madinah, supported by strategic planning and institutional partnerships, enhancing quality of life and reinforcing the city's position as a global destination for living, visiting, and investment. The report noted that the region is home to more than 2.1 million people and includes more than 4,000 historical and cultural sites, in addition to major development projects contributing to urban and economic growth.
 The report highlighted the development of Madinah's transportation system, noting that the public transport network operates with 177 buses, 15 routes, and 371 stations. It also highlighted the implementation of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project, which will include 250 buses and 405 stations, covering more than 90% of the road network. In addition, the project will integrate with the Haramain High Speed Railway, which has transported around nine million passengers.
 It also noted that humanization projects and urban landscape improvements have enhanced the experience of residents and visitors through the development of the area surrounding the Prophet's Mosque, the rehabilitation of Al-Aqiq Valley, and the implementation of the 175-kilometer-long historic Badr Trail, linking 40 historical sites and 25 villages. These efforts contribute to preserving the region's cultural and historical heritage and improving the quality of the urban environment.
