King Abdullah Medical City Records Fastest Local Launch of Robotic Surgeries, Confirms Regional Leadership
King Abdullah Medical City, a member of the Makkah Health Cluster, has achieved a new qualitative milestone reflecting its operational maturity and medical leadership, after recording one of the fastest launches of robotic surgeries at the local level, and among the fastest in the Middle East during 2025. This step underscores its commitment to adopting the latest medical technologies in line with the highest standards of quality and safety.
The city noted that the first robotic surgical procedure was performed on May 19, 2025, followed by rapid growth in the number of operations. A total of 100 robotic surgical cases were completed in a short period, reflecting the readiness of the infrastructure, the efficiency of the medical teams, and the integration of clinical and technical systems within the city.
This accelerated performance represents a practical translation of King Abdullah Medical City’s strategy, which focuses on medical innovation, the localization of advanced technologies, and the enhancement of the efficiency of specialized services. This approach achieves the highest levels of safety and quality, boosts the city’s position as an advanced referral center at both local and regional levels, and supports the objectives of health sector transformation, ensuring the delivery of advanced, sustainable healthcare aligned with the aspirations of Saudi Vision 2030.
