Raghadan Forest: Captivating Summer Destination on the Peaks of Sarawat Mountains

Raghadan Forest Park, perched on the slopes of the Sarawat Mountains west of Al-Baha city, stands as one of the region's most prominent eco-tourism destinations. Spanning approximately 483,000 square meters and rising over 1,700 meters above sea level, the park boasts a mild climate and breathtaking natural scenery.

Located about four kilometers from the center of Al-Baha, the park has been developed to include green spaces, walking paths, shaded seating areas, and a range of service and recreational facilities. Among the development projects carried out by the Al-Baha Municipality is the 20,000-square-meter Bahjat Raghadan Park, featuring an artificial waterfall, an open-air theater, children’s play areas, and the Lavender Garden, which connects to a central plaza and a 500-meter stone walkway.

Mayor of Al-Baha Region Dr. Ali Al-Sawat stated that Raghadan Forest Park is a leading environmental and tourism landmark in the region. He noted that several development projects were implemented in the park this year, including the second phase of sidewalk upgrades, which extended 1,470 meters over an area of 3,870 square meters, the enhancement of an 11,500-square-meter section of the park, and the creation of a new 230-meter walking path covering 944 square meters.

Dr. Al-Sawat added that the park features a fully integrated infrastructure designed to meet the needs of visitors. The total area of green spaces reaches 384,787 square meters. The park includes 1,230 parking spaces, 42 of which are designated for individuals with disabilities, along with 14 playgrounds and 122 restrooms strategically located throughout the facility.

Raghadan Forest experiences high visitor turnout during the summer season, as it hosts a variety of entertainment and cultural events organized by relevant authorities as part of the Al-Baha Summer Program, which aims to enrich the visitor experience and promote domestic tourism.
