Saudi Arabia and Thailand Strengthen Economic Ties as Riyadh Hosts the Thailand International Mega Fair 2025
On behalf of His Excellency the Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the Board of the General Authority for Foreign Trade, Dr. Majid Al-Qasabi, the Deputy Governor of the General Authority for Foreign Trade for International Relations, Mr. Abdulaziz bin Omar Al-Sakran, participated in the opening ceremony of the Thailand International Mega Fair 2025 – Riyadh (3rd Edition).
The event was attended by Dr. Kirida Bhaopichitr, Vice Minister for Commerce of the Royal Thai Government; Mr. Darm Boontham, Ambassador of Thailand to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; and Mr. Osama Qoqandi, Chairman of the Saudi–Thai Business Council, in addition to a number of senior officials and representatives from both the public and private sectors of the two countries.
In his welcoming remarks, Mr. Visit Limlurcha, Vice Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Trade of Thailand, highlighted the substantial progress in Thai–Saudi relations since the full restoration of iplomatic ties. He emphasized the fair’s role as a strategic, government-supported platform for advancing trade, investment, tourism, and emerging industries that contribute to the long-term economic partnership of both countries.
In his remarks, Mr. Al-Sakran highlighted that the efforts made over the past years have resulted in effective partnerships between the private sectors of both nations, with bilateral trade over the past five years reaching approximately USD 40 billion, and achieving an annual growth rate of around 9%. He also noted that the Saudi–Thai Joint Business Council has been restructured to serve as an enhanced platform for communication, joint initiatives, and expanded commercial and investment cooperation.
Mr. Al-Sakran emphasized that the Kingdom’s participation in the event reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to opening new horizons for economic cooperation, supporting Saudi and Thai companies in accessing promising investment opportunities, and aligning with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to diversify the economy and strengthen the Kingdom’s position as a leading regional and global trade hub.
The Thailand International Mega Fair 2025 is organized in strategic partnership with the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Trade of Thailand, and supported by the Royal Thai Embassy in Riyadh, the Federation of Saudi Chambers, the Saudi–Thai Business Council, and the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce.
The fair features more than 150 leading Thai brands across key sectors including food and beverages, health and wellness, tourism, fragrances and oud, smart agriculture, automotive components, décor and construction materials, and business solutions.
The three-day event is held at the Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Center, offering visitors cultural performances, interactive showcases, and new opportunities to strengthen commercial partnerships between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Thailand.
