Al-Yanfa Heritage Village: A Destination Rooted in over 3,000 Years of History

Al-Yanfa Heritage Village, approximately 40 kilometers southwest of Abha, is one of Aseer Region's most prominent tourism and cultural destinations, with a cultural legacy spanning more than 3,000 years and a unique architectural style reflecting the region's social and economic life across the ages.
 Heritage architecture researcher Ali Al-Shahrani told the Saudi Press Agency that the village represents an integrated model of traditional architecture, featuring multi-story stone buildings, historical pathways, and squares. Its name derives from the term "Al-Naf'a," reflecting the values of cooperation and collective work that characterized village life across generations.
 The village contains approximately 460 heritage houses and multi-story palaces built using local stone, clay, and timber, alongside more than 70 ancient wells, an intricate underground water channel network, agricultural terraces, grain storage chambers, the old mosque dating to 105 AH, and five other historical mosques.
 The village continues to receive visitors until August 31, 2026, through a 68-day program featuring cultural events, folk performances, handicrafts, and traditional markets. Aseer Development Authority expects more than 55,000 visitors during the current season.
