Saudi Environmental Teams Map and Inspect Peregrine Falcon Nests in Aseer Mountains

The National Center for Falcons, partnering with the National Center for Wildlife and the Special Forces for Environmental Security, has carried out a targeted field assessment of peregrine falcon nesting sites in the mountainous Aseer Region.

Organized under the center's landmark "Hadad" conservation program launched in 2021, the mission focuses on documenting natural breeding grounds, monitoring vulnerable populations, and restoring local ecological balances.

Center spokesperson Waleed Al-Tawil emphasized that long-term success relies on combining state law enforcement with the deep heritage expertise of local falconers, who actively cooperate with environmental units to patrol habitats, safeguard active nests, and foster community-driven wildlife protection across the Kingdom.
