Farasan Youth Launch Tourism SMEs as Islands Shift to Year-Round Travel Destination
Driven by a steady rise in year-round tourism, local youth in the Farasan Islands are pioneering a new coastal economy through small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), opening modern cafes, restaurants, and hospitality services tailored to the islands' unique marine and cultural identity.
To support this entrepreneurial shift, Jazan Region Municipality has upgraded local infrastructure and primed public beaches and heritage sites, paving the way for larger private investments. Major development projects are currently underway, including the construction resorts and luxury tourist destinations, positioning the islands to attract major local and international hospitality investors while generating jobs and diversifying the economy in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.
