ZATCA Thwarts Attempt to Smuggle 187,000 Captagon Pills at King Abdulaziz Airport

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) at King Abdulaziz International Airport has thwarted an attempt to smuggle 187,000 amphetamine pills (Captagon) into the Kingdom by intercepting a shipment concealing the drugs upon arrival.

ZATCA stated that the narcotics were seized during standard customs inspections using advanced security technologies, which revealed the pills concealed within cavities in a shipment of dining tables.

Following the seizure, ZATCA immediately coordinated with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to apprehend the intended recipients of the contraband, resulting in the arrest of four individuals in the Kingdom.

The authority called on the public to contribute to combating smuggling and protecting the national economy by reporting any suspicious activities. Reports can be made with complete confidentiality via the dedicated security reporting number 1910, email 1910@zatca.gov.sa, or the international number 009661910. A financial reward is offered for accurate information.
